The most known and popular water trails of the region are Brda and Wda with their tributaries. The rivers have well developed tourism infrastructure and low level of hardiness and burdensomeness, so they are visited by thousands of canoeists every year. But the region is full of other rivers with trails that always guarantee unforgettable impression and emotions. The attractions of Słupia, Łupawa, Wieprza, Radunia and Wierzyca Rivers are antique, over hundred-year-old hydro power stations. The trails of Słupia, Wieprza and Piaśnica Rivers can be culminated with flowing in the open water of the Baltic Sea. The attraction of Nogat River’s trail is Malbork Castle, canoeing across Wierzyca River you can see the former Cistercian Cathedral in Pelplin, and the trails along Radunia and Motława Rivers can be ended under the Żuraw Gate in Gdańsk. The rivers of Żuławy also give you a unique opportunity to familiarize with this land divorced from water. Rynna Sulęczyńska on the Słupia River or Bukowina River itself are challenges even for experienced canoeists.
The self-government of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, as the inspirer and coordinator of canoe tourist development, for years supports developing the bodies of water for the needs of canoeists. And further steps are taken in order to create an integrated, networked tourist product with water trails as its main axis.
Due to the financing of new projects, it is possible to make water trails accessible to canoeists and ensure their safety by developing and improving the standard of tourism infrastructure, in particular the canoeing infrastructure, as well as making the cultural and natural heritage available to canoeists in areas along Pomeranian rivers such as: Czernica, Biała, Brda, Zbrzyca, Ruda, Chocina, Grand Brda Canal, Młosina, Wda, Granicza, Trzebiocha, Wda Canal, Pilica, Wietcisa, Wierzyca, Radunia, Słupia, Kamienica, Wieprza, Studnica, Pokrzywna, Łeba, Chełst Canal, Liwa, Motława, Opływ Motławy, Martwa Wisła, Szkarpawa, Nogat, Liwa, Tuga and Święta, Łupawa, Bukowina, Reda, Czarna Wda, Piaśnica. The trails will be comprehensively marked, new public tourism infrastructure facilities of regional or supra-regional importance will be built (including canoe marinas, piers for water tourism, canoe launching slipways, portages).
These places will be equipped with canoe holders, tables, sheds, benches, waste bins, fireplaces, canoe dryers, information and promotion boards, portable sanitary facilities cover, bicycle stands or solar lamps).
