Piaśnica – easy section (from Lake Żarnowieckie to the village of Dębki)

Section length: 6.5 km

An incredibly picturesque kayaking route that you can start at Lake Żarnowieckie and finish literally on the beach at Dębki. It takes about 2-3 hours to cover the distance. The river is really crowded during the high season. The route is pleasant and not onerous. The trip is usually begun at the car park where Lake Żarnowieckie flows into the Piaśnica River, near the bridge on road 213. The river is up to 1.5 m deep and its current is negligible. Initially, the route runs along a regulated riverbed and after passing a wooden bridge it enters a virgin landscape of meadows, where banks are overgrown with reeds and bushes. On this stretch, the river is wide and calm. After 3.5 km of kayaking, you enter the area of the Piaśnickie Łąki Nature Reserve. Numerous meanders. You pass a border post of the former Polish-German border on your right. About 2 km before the river mouth at the Baltic Sea, the route enters a forest area and you can see the village of Dębki on the right. You pass a bridge on the R10 bicycle route, where, on your left, you can see a granite post, the so-called Versailles stone (until 1 September 1939, the Piaśnica River was a Polish-German border river). Then, what attracts kayakers the most – the mouth of the river into the sea. You are about to land on the beach. A short rest. The trip ends with a turn against the current, which is hardly noticeable up to Dębki.
