Pokrzywna – moderately difficult section (Glewnik – Broczyna)

Pokrzywna – moderately difficult section (Glewnik – Broczyna)

Section length: 9 km

It is a perfect stretch for experienced kayakers who detest monotony. The Pokrzywna carries quite a lot of water, the current is fast and there are numerous fallen trees in the riverbed. This route is the most convenient place to start kayaking down the Wieprza River. The trip starts at the marina in Glewnik. The route can be divided into two sections: Trzebielino/Glewnik – Bąkowo and Bąkowo – Broczyna. The river is shallow and offers beautiful views and very close contact with nature. There are many calm river stretches and unexpected obstacles. Initially, the river crosses areas surrounded by meadows, but after passing the village of Bąkowo, it enters a forest area. Watch out for downed trees in the current. The riverbed here is more rocky and unpredictable. At the end of the route, the river flows through forests. Before Broczyna, you get to the Wieprza route. The confluence of the rivers looks as if the Pokrzywna is the main current and the Wieprza flows into it.
