Section length: 18 km
The river stretch from Żukowo to Kolbudy is easy but kayakers have to portage their equipment 5 times on the route, which may be quite onerous.
You should dedicate one day for this trip. Your kayaking adventure starts with portage in Żukowo, at the former brick mill. The river meanders gently through meadows and then disappears in a shallow, straight, steep-sloped ravine, which extends as far as Niestępowo. In places, there are fallen trees in the riverbed and considerable part of the current is often overgrown with willows. On route, there is a portage over the hydroelectric water station in Lniska. In Niestępowo, the river splits into two branches; you may choose either of them; there are bridges across both of them and you can find a small church on the island between the branches; after the connection of the branches, you reach the last rapids. The river slows down and flows lazily in a forest. After a few kilometres, you reach the Łapino Reservoir. You can finish your kayaking trip at the dam embankment on the right-hand side, because from this point, on the nearly 14-kilometre long stretch of the Radunia River, there are 6 almost a hundred-year-old hydroelectric power stations (Łapino, Bielkowo, Straszyn, Prędzieszyn, Kuźnice, Juszkowo) which require portaging of kayaks, where the longest distances are of 1200 metres and 700 metres; besides, there are additional weirs. The persistent ones can paddle down to Kolbudy. You portage around the hydroelectric power station in Łapino and then reach a fork in the river. To the right, you can see the old Radunia riverbed, separated with a gate. It looks like a drying stream and is not navigable. On the left, there is a wide canal, which will get you to Lake Kolbudzkie where you finish your trip at the sailing marina in Kolbudy. Further on, the route is closed. Initially, the river flows in a pipeline supplying water to the hydroelectric power station in Bielkowo and then enters the Straszyn reservoir, from which drinking water is taken and a nearby power station is supplied.
