4. Ostrowo: The mouth of the Czarna Woda (Wda) river into the Baltic Sea
Czarna Woda, also referred to as Czarna Wda, is a rarely known small seaside river, rarely visited by kayakers. It goes through Northern Kashubia near Jastrzębia Góra, mainly in a proglacial wetland valley cutting through the seaside upland. Its name comes from the brown color of water, which the river takes on due to washing over peat deposits. Organic compounds located in the soil enter the river due to which it takes on a peculiar color at the same time remaining transparent. It is an easy kayaking trail without obstacles, perfect for a family trip. The trip can be ended in a unique scenery because, similarly to Piaśnica, the river goes straight to the Baltic Sea cutting through the narrow and sandy beach.
